At the Gates je švédska melodic death metalová kapela z Göteborgu, ktorá vznikla v roku 1990. Skupina bola hlavným predchodcom Gothenburg Sound v polovici 90. rokov spolu s Dark Tranquility a In Flames. Pred prvým rozpustením v roku 1996 vydali At the Gates štyri albumy, pričom posledným bol Slaughter of the Soul (1995). Album bol vnímaný ako medzník švédskej death metalovej scény v polovici 90. rokov. Po opätovnom zjednotení v roku 2007, na pôvodne jednorazovom turné v roku 2008, skupina pokračovala vo vystupovaní a vydala tri ďalšie štúdiové albumy: At War with Reality (2014), To Drink from the Night Itself (2018) a The Nightmare of Being (2021). Ôsmy štúdiový album melodických death metalových majstrov a priekopníkov „Gothenburg Sound“, At The Gates obsahuje 12 skladieb / 42 minút.
