Hasselblad Masters 2 Emotion

Hasselblad - manufacturer of the finest photographic technology for more than five decades—sponsors the elite Masters contest each year, recognizing both the top established and upcoming photographers. Hasselblad awarded one Master for each of ten categories: architecture, editorial, fashion/beauty, fine art, general photography, nature/landscape, portrait, wedding/social, product and up-and-coming artist. Starting with nearly 3,000, almost double the number from 2008, accomplished entrants who submitted ten photographs each, the Hasselblad team rigorously narrowed the selection to 100 finalists. Because of the high level of participation, the size of the judging panel was increased twofold. An internal jury performed the first round of eliminations and an elite panel of industry professionals, including leading art directors, editors and photographers such as Steve McCurry (USA), Anton Corbijn (Netherlands) and Tim Flach (UK) made the winning selections from a group of 100 finalists. For the first time, a public poll counted as one vote for each category. In addition to being granted the distinguished title of Master, the winners will each have access to Hasselblad’s flagship camera system, the H4D, a movie camera and a script to interpret the theme “emotion” in their own distinctive ways. This book contains the compelling projects from each of the winning photographers.
