Popri najnovšej snímke o Jamesovi Bondovi patrí k najočakávanejším filmom tohto roka v kinách aj "Hobit: Neočakávaná cesta" – prvá časť trilógie "Hobit", ktorá vznikla na motívy diela J. R. R. Tolkiena. Na čele hudobnej zložky opäť stojí uznávaný skladateľ Howard Shore, ktorý predtým zložil hudbu k trom filmom zo série "Pán prsteňov" a získal za ňu tri Oscary i tri ceny Grammy.
