Joe Strummer (rodným menom John Graham Mellor; 21. augusta 1952 Ankara – 22. decembra 2002 Broomfield) bol britský gitarista a spevák punkovej skupiny The Clash a neskôr skupiny Joe Strummer & The Mescaleros. Skupinu The Clash založil roku 1976 spolu s basákom Paulom Simononom, gitaristom Keithom Levenenom a bubeníkom Terrym Chimesom. Dňa 22. decembra 2002 vo svojom dome zomrel na vrodenúsrdcovú vadu. "Rock Art and the X-Ray Style" je debutový album, ktorý vyšiel 18. októbra 1999. Na tomto albume bola skupina vo svojej prvej inkarnácii: Joe Strummer a Antony Genn na gitare a speve, Martin Slattery na klávesoch a gitara, Steve "Smiley" Barnard na bicie, Pablo Cook na iné bicie nástroje a Scott Shields na basu.
