The author has taken time to ensure the reader can more easily understand how the various systems and equipment used during WW2 enabled the gathering of military and other intelligence, and was used to apply codebreaking of enemy messages. Also, in some cases, the use of specialist deception techniques to attempt to fool the enemy.
